With more than 13 years of experience as a DJ, Dennis Sebayan has played at clubs, festivals, lounges, and private and fashion events in New York, Miami, Toronto and Las Vegas. His sets are precise, crisp, and upfront, leaving event patrons and management in a positive state. It is his goal to share with others his deep passion and love for dance music by conveying it in finely-executed sets and with his contributions to such upfront organizations as Ultra Music Festival and URB Magazine, to name a few.
Since 2004, he has worked with Ultra Music Festival as a marketing consultant. In 2010, he took the role a step further and is part of Ultra’s core team, handling media marketing. He is also a producer of UMF Radio Presented by Ultra Music Festival, which airs on Sirius (38) XM (80) Satellite Radio Fridays from 4pm-6pm EST. In 2007 and 2009, he headlined an Ultra Music Festival stage.
In June, 2008, URB Magazine sent photographer Jocelyn Baun to shoot him for their first ever soapbox feature, featuring Dennis as an expert DJ. He was told to literally stand on a soapbox and expound on the connections between current electronic dance music and gay New York City nightlife–through its beginnings to today.
Throughout his career, he has DJd at countless nightclubs in New York, with former reidencies at GYM Sportsbar and g-Lounge, and guest spots at therapy, performing monthly from 2004-2008.
Other Venues Include: Hotel on Rivington, Circa (Toronto), Social (Toronto), Passion Nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel (Hollywood, Florida), Sullivan Room, The Park, etc.. Sebayan also DJd a warm-up set at Ice (RIP) in Las Vegas one night in 2004, opening for Doc Marten. He performed at The Townhouse Hotel in Miami two consecutive years during WMC, with luminaries Josh Wink and Tommie Sunshine in 2006 and Charles Webster and JT Donaldson in 2007.
As a reviewer and freelance writer, Dennis fuses the best and most cutting edge in global dance music, with a guided purpose to present the most relevant news and trends in an insightful manner. DJ Dennis Sebayan has freelanced for URB Magazine, DJ Times, the NY Daily News, Out and ClubZone.com, et al. He covers mostly everything, including dance music, electro, indie-rock and pop. In 2005, he was a featured journalist on NPR Day-to-Day covering a story about Morcheeba. He has also written the odd fashion designer profile, film or book review.
